We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial accuracy and integrity of our operations. This position goes beyond standard accounting duties; it requires a proactive professional capable of handling complex intercompany transactions, extensive data analysis, and the preparation of compliant financial statements.

In this role, you will manage a diverse range of accounting tasks, ensuring precision and efficiency across the board. Your daily and periodic responsibilities will include:

• Lead and execute the full financial close process, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and financial data is accurately compiled and reported.

• Prepare the annual financial accounts in strict accordance with Dutch Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Dutch GAAP), ensuring full compliance with local regulations.

• Take full ownership of preparing and submitting Dutch VAT (btw) and ICP (intracommunautaire prestaties) declarations. You will ensure all transactions are correctly classified according to Dutch and EU tax regulations.

• Handle large volumes of data to prepare turnover journals. You will utilize Power Query to efficiently extract, transform, and load data, and leverage Excel PivotTables for high-level analysis.

• Reconcile all intercompany accounts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain clear, accurate records of transactions between our various entities.

• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring every entry is accurate, properly documented, and justified.

• Review incoming purchase invoices within the accounting software, validating General Ledger (GL) codes, VAT settings, and supplier information before approval.

• Post and analyze payroll journal entries to ensure accurate personnel cost reflection.

• Act as a key point of contact during external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.

To be successful in this role, you bring:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of experience in an finance role, with proven experience in preparing financial statements.

• Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP is essential.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Dutch and European VAT regulations (including VAT/ICP submissions).

  • Proven experience with intercompany reconciliations and period-end close processes.

  • Basic understanding of payroll journal entries.

• Proficiency in accounting software is required. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Query is a must for this role.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
